Our Pizza

New York
STYLE

Famulari’s New York-style pizza starts with hand-tossed dough made in-house, freshly grated mozzarella, and toppings prepared in-house. It all goes into our brick oven until the crust is crisp on the outside with the softer middle that makes a slice easy to fold.

Choose one of our specialty pizzas or build your own in 10-, 14-, or 18-inch sizes. However you order it, this is the pizza style Famulari’s was built on.

Chicago
STYLE

Famulari’s Chicago-style pizza is true deep dish, made with our in-house dough in special Chicago-style pans. Fresh mozzarella and toppings are baked between two layers of light, fluffy dough, then finished with a buttered crust, chunky tomato sauce, and parmesan on top.

It is thicker, heavier, and built completely differently from our New York-style pizza, which is exactly the point. Go classic, choose a Chicago-style specialty pizza, or take on the Chicago Challenge: one person, one topping, one hour.

Our Story

Famulari’s Pizzeria started with friendship, brotherhood, and a serious obsession with getting the pizza right.

In 2003, brothers Jason and Justin Famulari teamed up with longtime friends Josh Boissonnault and Brandon Jensen. With more than 20 years of pizza-making experience behind them, they set out to build the kind of neighborhood pizza place people would want to come back to.

On November 14, 2008, the first Famulari’s Pizzeria opened at Oakbrook in Summerville, South Carolina. What started with one neighborhood pizza place has grown to five Famulari’s locations across the Lowcountry: Oakbrook, West Ashley, Hanahan, Cainhoy, and Cane Bay. Fam’s Brewing Co. on James Island is our sister concept.

Along the way, Famulari’s has earned plenty of local pizza love. Famulari’s was voted Post and Courier Charleston’s Choice Best Pizza from 2009–2015 and again from 2017–2024, and Charleston City Paper Best of Charleston Best Pizza in 2026.

As Charleston City Paper put it: “If you have to have pizza, and if you care what it tastes like, you should be at Famulari’s.”
